Transfer News: East Bengal completes the star signing of ISL winning BFC midfielder

 I-League giant East Bengal announce the signing of a utility player, Boithang Haokip from the current ISL Champions JSWBengaluru FC. Boithang started his career at Shillong Lajong’s academy and is now all set to join The Laal-Holud brigade having signed a 3-year contract. The 28-year-old versatile footballer played a key role in the several appearances he made for JSW Bengaluru on road to winning the Super Cup in 2018 as well the ISL trophy in 2018-19.

Haokip started his career at Shillong Lajong and made his debut for the club in I-League 2012-13 season. He had also plied his trade with ISL clubs like NorthEast United FC and Mumbai City FC.

He has appeared in a total of 21 ISL matches for Bengaluru FC and scored two goals. He had also scored a goal in the AFC Cup 2018 against Transport United.

The Red and Gold brigade has also announced the contract extension with their physical trainer and Assistant Coach Carlos Nodar Paz for another couple of seasons.
