Transfer News: Delhi Dynamos completes the signing of star young midfielder

XtraTime Web Desk:
Indian Super League franchise Delhi Dynamos announces the signing of star midfielder Jerry Mawihmingthanga from Jamshedpur FC on Tuesday.

The 22-year old midfielder has been a vital cog in Jamshedpur’s attack in the last couple of seasons and has the distinction of scoring the fastest goal in the history of ISL.

Jerry started his career with DSK Shivajians Academy and just like Dynamos’ Lallianzuala Chhangte, went to train at the Liverpool Academy.

“I am really happy to join Delhi Dynamos. I have had fantastic seasons with my former coaches and clubs, and want to thank them for it. But now under coach Josep Gombau, I would like to explore my potential even more and help Delhi win their maiden title.”, the Mizo player said.

For Jamshedpur, Jerry had made 22 appearances in a career spanning two seasons.

“I’m really happy to have Jerry join the club as our first signing for ISL Season 6. He is a player who had caught my eye during ISL 4 and his speed and movement with the ball will be a big advantage for us moving forward. He is a player who fits the identity of our club and can add a great deal of skill and finesse to our wings,” said club director Rohan Sharma.

“We are very lucky to have him in DDFC. His addition will further enrich the existing pool of exceptional Indian players that the Dynamos have, and it further strengthens the club’s philosophy of promoting and encouraging young Indian talents,” he further added.

Echoing the same sentiment, head coach Gombau said, “Jerry is a very young talented Indian winger. He is a player who fits in very well in our system. I would like to welcome him to the team and I hope and he will, do very well in the team.”
