Xtra Time Web Desk:  Indian swimmer Sajan Prakash created history by becoming the first-ever swimmer from the country to directly qualify for the Olympic Games. He cleared the ‘A’ standard of international swimming by clocking 1:56.48 mins.

Swimming in Lane 3 at the Sette Colli in Rome, Italy, the 27-year-old from Kerala breached the elusive ‘A’ Cut that stands formidably at 1:56.48 min. He picked gold – his second in two weeks after coming very close to slashing ‘A’ at Belgrade, Serbia, last week.

With this new record, Sajan Prakash rewrote his personal best of 1:56.96s that he had set last week at the Belgrade Trophy swimming competition.
