XtraTime Web Desk: They are easily the two biggest youth icons of India at the moment. It is strange to believe that Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood’s No 1 Playback singer at the moment Arijit Singh, who celebrates his 34th birthday today (April 25) have never met each other until one October evening in 2017. Kohli has been a huge fan of Arijit Singh ever since the Jiyaganz born singer started making inroads in Bollywood playback industry with his soulful renditions. The first meeting between the two happened in a weird circumstance. Kohli was in Mumbai for a celebrity match involving the cricketers and Bollywood celebs. The match was supposed to be held at Andheri Sports Complex which happened to be a stone throw away distance from where Arijit stays in Mumbai with his family. As soon as Virat came to know about it, he didn’t want to waste a golden opportunity to meet his favourite singer. He rushed to Arijit’s residence soon after the match. And what happened for the next one and half hour was pure fan-moment as they both shared mutual respect for each other. Arijit too is a huge fan of the Indian captain. Arjit’s son, who plays football, is also a diehard fan of Virat. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see both the youth icons coming together soon. Kohli could not resist sharing his fan-boy moment with Arjit on his twitter handle. He tweeted, “Pure fanboy moment for me. What an amazing person he is. No one has captivated me with their voice like this man. God bless you Arijit,”

Born to a Punjabi father and Bengali mother, Arijit Singh shot to fame in 2010 after working alongside noted music director, Pritam Chakraborty. When it comes to fan following in India, there are precious few stars that can compete with Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli in sheer numbers. But when the Indian captain himself shared a fan boy moment, it does mean something. Both Kohli and Arijit have come close several times since that October meeting.
