Three consecutive defeats for SC East Bengal as NorthEast United beat them 2-0

XtraTime Web Desk – A kind of start that no SC East Bengal fan could even think of! ISL hasn’t been too kind to the red and gold brigade as they now lost three consecutive games and now has conceded 7 goals in the season, scoring none.

SC East Bengal was denied a penalty in the first half as Maghoma was brought down in the penalty box by Asutosh Mehta. The Highlanders took the lead in the 33rd minute as Surchanda unfortunately scored an own goal. Something that definetly didn’t boost SC East Bengal’s morale going forward. The first half ended 1-0.

In the second half, SC East Bengal got quiet a few opportunities to equalise but they lacked a striker so much. With so many injuries and absentees, SC East Bengal desperately needs someone who can score goals like Roy Krishna does for ATK Mohun Bagan.

SC East Bengal was again unlucky as they were denied a penalty once again. SC East Bengal tried their level best and gave their cent percent, however couldn’t deliver. NorthEast United scored again in the 91st minute as Chhara doubled the lead.

SC East Bengal players and coaching staffs looked devastated after 90 minutes. Robbie Fowler and company needs to find a very quick solution else SC East Bengal’s fate is very unlikely to change. NorthEast now has 8 points from 4 games and sitting in the 2nd place in the table while SC East Bengal are down at the bottom of the table.
