Kolkata: Mohun Bagan’s star Haitian forward Sony Norde celebrated his son Norde Kym Avicii’s first birthday in Kolkata today. All the Green & Maroon footballers like Dipanda Dicka, Ansumana Kromah, Kingsley, Shilton Paul, Azharuddin Mallick and others were present at this grand occasion today. Beside them the officials of the City giants were present too.

The Green & Maroon officials were looked a bit emotional on Avicii’s birthday.”We all have gathered here not as an officials or as any footballers. Bagan’s Assistant Secretary Srinjoy Bose funnily said,” Now the junior Norde has the total control on senior Norde. The whole world is at one side of Sony and Avicii is at another side.”

Except them Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen too was present on the occasion. He met Kym and spent some time with him too.

Sony sustained an injury on his right knee during their match against Neroca FC a couple of days back.” The doctor have said me that my right knee’s vain has swept and he has advised me a complete rest for six days, I may join the practice if I feel better after that period of time,” said Sony.

On being asked why he did play Bagan’s last game,Sony said,” As East Bengal won back to back matches we all knew that if we draw the next game, they would have a chance to surpass us with an win against Chennai. We decided that if we could score a goal in first 15 minutes, the coach will replace me with a substitute, but that didn’t happen and after the first half I felt a pain on my right knee and later I had to go out of the ground on a stretcher.”

The Bagan captain is in doubts that he might not take part in their next game.” I may not take part in our next game on December 29 but I will definitely play on January 3 next year and will try my level  best to score a goal and I will dedicate that goal to my son,” added Norde.

He thanked all the fans who wished on his wife’s and son’s birthday and assured them that he will be back with a bang. As we all know that Sony is a perfect team man, he will join the team tomorrow at the Salt Lake Stadium to cheer them from the side line.
