Kolkata: City giant Mohun Bagan will start their campaign in Sikkim Governors Gold Cup against Tibetan N.S of Himachal Pradesh tomorrow. Each club can sign six foreigners for the forthcoming I-League season and among them five players can play in a match together.

The Green and Maroon Brigade will only get the services of three foreigners at the start of the match. They are Dipanda Dicka, Ansumana Kromah and Diogo Ferreira. After getting a release from the nursing home, their Japanese medio Yuta Kinowaki has joined the squad but coach Shankarlal Chakraborty don’t want to take a chance with him from the start of the match. According to him, Kiowaki will be there in the 18-men squad later he might come in as a sub.

Bagan’s two star foreigners Diogo Ferreira and Dipanda Dicka will debut in the Green and Maroon jersey from the quarter-final stage of the tournament. As it will be a knock out game, the Mohun Bagan players did some penalty shootout after an hour of practice session at the Paljor Stadium.

According to Shankarlal,” Tibetan N.S mostly has academy players and they run a lot too during the match. We will attack after inspecting their game for first 30 minutes. The players have practiced penalty shootout too as it is a knock out game.”

Mohun Bagan played brilliant football in the recently concluded Calcutta Football League 2017, but unfortunately they became the runners-up in the tournament due to goal difference. Ahead of the I-League, Shankarlal Chakraborty is eyeing the Sikkim Governors Gold Cup as it will boost the morale of the players. The Green and Maroon Brigade has come to play the tournament after 15 long years and they are only eyeing the trophy.
