This ATK footballer has a special message for Mohun Bagan ahead of I League

Kolkata: What is common for ATK footballers Debjit Majumder and Robin Singh? Both these footballers who are now plying their trade in Indian Super League for the two time ISL champions ATK have their hearts with their former I League clubs.

ATK goalkeeper Debjit Majumder who has permanently left Mohun Bagan this season to play in the ISL still cannot forget his former club. The former I League winning Mohun Bagan goalkeeper in a special message on his facebook page wished his former club as they start their campaign in I League against Minerva Punjab FC on Saturday.

Few days back former East Bengal striker Robin Singh said that he still missed his former club. According to Robin, “Yes. I have been a part of East Bengal; that was the club that gave me the opportunity to be a professional footballer and I have great memories. Even six months back, I was with East Bengal; it will always be a special place. But it is done now.”

The talented striker who played for FC Goa (2016) and Delhi Dynamos (2015) in the previous two seasons of ISL has been roped in by ATK this season. On being asked whether he still misses his former teammates who now plays in the I League, Robin said,“I am a supporter of football. So if I am asked (to go and watch an I-League match), and if I have the time, why not? My friends play in that league. I would like to go and support them because they have had my back from time.”

Both Robin and Debjit’s gesture only goes to show the love for the Kolkata clubs who are tipped to join the cash rich league from the next season.
