Xtra Time Web Desk : Delhi Capitals on Monday clinched a much needed 17 run victory over rivals Punjab Kings in the 64th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 to keep their hopes for the playoffs alive.

Being put into bat first, the Delhi Capitals posted a total of 159 on the board at the end of their 20 overs, courtesy of some good tight bowling lines by the Punjab bowlers.

Coming in to bowl, it was a Shardul Thakur special show as his brilliant spell consisting of 4 wickets helped Delhi to dismantle the Punjab batting for the score of just 142, thus clinching a much needed 17 run victory.

And after the match, in the presentation ceremony, winning skipper Rishabh Pant reflected on his team's win and said, "Playing throughout the tournament we have been losing one game and winning one game. That's something we wanted to change as a team and we got it. [Asked about not bowling Kuldeep's fourth over] We saved him for the back half and then the dew seeps in. So we didn't want to give a massive over. It was 50/50. [Thought process on batting approach] The only thought process was to take it deep. We saw the spinners bowling well in the wicket."
