“Take a break from IPL”: Gavaskar’s advice for Rohit to come back into form ahead of WTC Final 2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been going through a tough time in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season. The Hitman has scored only 181 runs from 7 matches at an average of 25.86. He has scored only one fifty in the ongoing season so far. The inconsistent form of Rohit is reflected on the team’s performances as the five-time champions are languishing at seventh spot in points table.

Commenting on the poor form of Rohit, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar suggested he should take a short break from the ongoing IPL season. According to the Little Master, the break may do a world of good to him, and Rohit could come back fresh for the last few matches of the IPL 2023, and it could help him concentrate for the upcoming World Test Championship final as well.

During commentary on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “I would like to see some change in the batting order [for Mumbai Indians]. Honestly, I would also say that Rohit should maybe also take a break for the time being, and keep himself fit for the World Test Championship [final]. [He can] come back again for the last few matches, but right now, [he should] take a little bit of a breather himself.”
