T20 World Cup 2021: Shardul Thakur replaces Axar Patel in main squad

Xtra Time Web Desk: All-rounder Shardul Thakur has replaced Axar Patel in Team India’s main squad for upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 which gets underway in UAE and Oman from October 17. The All-India Senior Selection Committee after a discussion with the team management has added Shardul Thakur to the main squad. Axar Patel, who was part of the 15-member squad will now be on the list of stand-by players. Axar will be joined by Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar as stand by players

As earlier reported Hardik Pandya will remain in the main squad purely as a batter.

BCCI has also named the following players who will join the team bubble in Dubai. They will assist Team India in their preparations for upcoming T20 WC. The players are Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Harshal Patel, Lukman Meriwala, Venkatesh Iyer, Karn Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed and K. Gowtham.
