Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Pujara slams a brilliant T20 hundred, silences his critics

XtraTime Web Desk:
Cheteshwar Pujara answers with a slog to those who believe that the Saurashtra batsman only fits to the longer format of the game. Pujara became the first Saurashtra batsman to score a T20 century, during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Railways in Indore on Thursday. Cheteshwar Pujara scored a 61-ball 100 to help Saurashtra to 188/3 in its allotted 20 overs.
Pujara’s knock comprised 16 boundaries and a six.

Pujara is considered a Test specialist and has never played T20I for India. His last ODI match for India was in 2014 against Bangladesh. He went unsold in the IPL auction.

Pujara had a terrific tour in Australia and became the best batsman in terms of the leading run scorers. Pujara played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in the past but his steady batting didn’t get many applauds from the respective franchises.
