Suryakumar Yadav smashes 25 ball 61* as India beat Zimbabwe by 71 runs; set up semi-final clash against England

Xtra Time Web Desk: Suryakumar Yadav smashed an unbeaten 61 runs off just 25 balls as India thrashed Zimbabwe by 71 runs to set up a semi-final clash against England at Adelaide Oval on November 10. KL Rahul too hit a confident 51 runs off 35 balls. Chasing a daunting 187 runs, Zimbabwe could manage only 115 runs from 17.2 overs in the last Super 12 game of Group 2 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the Indian bowlers with 3 wickets for 22 runs in his four overs. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 not out off 25 balls as India posted a big total of 186 for 5 against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Sean Williams was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe by returning figures of 2 for 9 in two overs.

All the Indian bowlers except Axar Patel were on target and among wickets in one of the most lopsided games of this global event. Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami took two wickets apiece while Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared a wicket each.

The win saw India finishing on top of group 2 and will now play their fourth T20 World Cup semi-final (after 2007, 2014, 2016) against England in Adelaide on November 10.
