All rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj were among the first few individuals who were allowed to train at the venue. The players are being allowed in small groups to train. In a few days the entire team will be training together.

The Indian cricket team had landed in Southampton on June 3 and after that, every member of the touring contingent underwent a three-day mandatory hard quarantine. Players' activity is being allowed in a gradually increasing manner after each round of negative testing, moving from exercise in isolation to small group and then larger squad activity, whilst always remaining within the bio-secure bubble.

India’s opponents for the WTC Final are already in UK playing a test series against England. The BlackCaps will be facing England in the second test at Edgbaston which starts from Thursday. Kane Williamson has been rested for the test match owing to a left elbow injury that has been troubling him. Will Young will replace Williamson and will bat at No 3. Fast bowler Trent Boult is all set to lead the bowling attack of the visitors.
