Subhash Singh confident of combining well with Glen and Norde

Subhash-Singh-02Kolkata, December 18 : I League champion Mohun Bagan have strengthened their strike force by signing Mumbai City FC striker Subhash Singh . The 25 year old Manipuri have joined the Green and Maroon practice on Friday . Singh , who played for  Bharat FC last season have joined Bagan on loan from Mumbai City FC . For Subhash , it is not an unfamiliar place as he have played for East Bengal during 2009-10 season . Subhash himself  is quite exited to be playing alongside Cornell Glen and Soni Norde , with whom he had earlier played with . He partnered Cornell Glen at Shillong Llajong during 2013-14 season of I League . He also had the experience playing alongside Soni Norde at Mumbai City FC in ISL . Singh is quite confident of combining with Norde and Glen ,“ I have played with both Glen and Norde , so I am confident of combining well with them at Mohun Bagan . ” With Subhash joing the I League champions , Bagan officials might give way signing Jackichand Singh as well . The club officials also seems not too interested with Channaiyin FC striker Jeje who was with the club last year , since they want to retain another Chennaiyin FC footballer Balwant Singh . Jeje  had offers from both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan . Subhash knows there will be stiff competition to get into the playing eleven ,“ I know there will be a lot of pressure to fulfill the expectation of the supporters . But as a professional footballer , you strive to do well in such situations . It’s a huge honour for me to be playing for a top club like Mohun Bagan .”

Ranty-MartinsWhile Mohun Bagan is slowly getting themselves organized, arch rivals Kingfisher East Bengal is busy playing practice matches . The Red and Gold had a convincing 4-1 victory against North Bengal BSF at the club grounds . Ranty Martins , Jiten Murmu and Jagannath Sana were the goal scorers for East Bengal . BSF reduced the margin through Pawan Tiwary. All four goals were scored in the first half . Coach Biswajit Bhattacharya tried his junior inexperienced players in the second half . Du Dong came in at the second half but the Korean did not risk himself as the ground was heavy with overnight rains . Meanwhile Robert , Gurwinder Singh and other footballers have been asked to report to the club by December 27 as coach Biswajit Bhattacharya will be having a camp ahead of I League . Sehnaz Singh who had an impressive outing with Delhi Dynamos in ISL is in talks with the club officials . But Lalrindika Ralte , most likely will not be seen in action with the Red and Gold outfit as he is yet to recover from an operation he had in his knee .
