Twitter[/caption] Internet Desk: Starting on a high quality hockey Indian team was held by host Spain in a 1-1 stalemate friendly final at Valencia today. The team can take this series as a ‘not-so-good’ practice ahead of the Rio Olympic which is starting next month. This entirely round robin tournament will be decided over the points earned. According to points Germany led the table with three victories among four matches. The second and the third position has been gained by Argentina and Spain respectively. India is at the fourth position among the six nations. This final tally will not make the Indian team happy before the Olympics. However, the overall performance of India is satisfactory in this series. As the series advanced the men in Blue refreshed their game. They gave a stunning draw against Argentina. However, they could not beat Germany, the ranking 3rd team. In the last match India were also held by the world ranking 11. They gave a good start to this game. They earned five penalties in the match. They could score through only one penalty. As a result Spain scored the first goal of the match. Through out the series India had a good show in goal keeping, drag flicking and mid-field. Still the score line did not increased, which remained a matter to think about before Rio Olympics. Previously Indian drag-flickers made their mark through penalty. But that excellence was missing in this series. However, this series is very fruitful from the part of Indian hockey as they can find out their problems more than one month ahead of the Olympics. After this series they can overcome the faults to give a good show at Rio.
