South Africa tour to Pakistan: Proteas squad arrive in Pakistan for first Test series since 2007

South African cricketers at Karachi to take part in a series against Pakistan.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The South African cricket team reached Karachi on Saturday to play their first test series against Pakistan since 2007. Quinton de Cock led Proteas side will play two test matches and will also be involved in a three match T20I series. The two test matches will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi (Jan 26-30) and Pindi stadium in Rawalpindi (February 04-08). The T20 series will be played at the Gadaffi stadium in Lahore from Feb 11.

The South African cricketers arrived in the southern port city of Karachi and will be quarantining for five days in the hotel. They will be allowed to train though. The Proteas last toured Pakistan in late 2007 when it won the two-test series 1-0.

Since then, Pakistan has twice hosted South Africa for the test series in the United Arab Emirates — in 2010 and 2013.

The Pakistan Cricket Board was forced to choose the UAE for its home venue after terrorists attacked a Sri Lanka team bus at Lahore in 2009.
