It was the first cricket match played at the newly renovated Sardar Patel Stadium which also boasts of being the largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of over 1,14,000. The renovated stadium is yet to host any competitive game and will do so in February when England visit India.

Several important issues pertaining to Indian cricket will be discussed at the 89th AGM of BCCI. The preparations for the England team’s tour to India, resumption of domestic tournaments and the inclusion of two new teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be on the agenda of BCCI AGM.

While BCCI remains keen on adding two new teams to the tournament, it is understood that the 2021 season of IPL will be played with the regular 8 teams and bids will be invited for the addition of two new teams from the 2022 season.
