BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was admitted in a city hospital on Saturday following a mild chest pain.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Saturday was admitted in a city hospital following a mild chest pain. He has been kept under observation. As per family sources his condition is stable now. Ganguly had a heart issue and was admitted in Woodlands hospital. But is stable and will need a procedure confirmed hospital sources.

The former India captain complained about feeling dizzy when he was in the gym. He was rushed to the Woodlands to get the Tests done. That’s when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue. He had 90% block. A three member board headed by Dr Saroj Mondal decided to do three angioplasty operations, the first of which was carried on Saturday evening. The remaining two will be done on Monday.

According to his elder brother Snehasish Ganguly, "Sourav is stable. Senior doctors are looking after him. We will let you know once we get further updates."

The chief minister of the West Bengal , Mamata Banerjee has wished Ganguly a speedy recovery. She tweeted, "Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!
