Sky Sports, Supersport pick tender for IPL media rights: Report

Xtra Time Web Desk: Sky Sports of UK and Supersport of South Africa are believed to have shown an interest in IPL media rights. According to a report in Cricbuzz, both Sky and Supersport have purchased the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document and are expected to bid for the Bouquet D — world rights, of the IPL.

Star India Pvt Ltd, Viacom 18 Media Private Limited, Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited, Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Sporta Technologies Pvt Ltd (Dream 11), Supersport International Pty Ltd and Sky UK Ltd are the confirmed parties who have taken the ITT documents, the cost of which is a non-refundable Rs 25 lakh. The ITT will be available for purchase till May 10.

There is speculation about NetFlix, Facebook, Apple and AirTel showing interest too, but there has been no confirmation on this as yet.

The IPL media rights will go for sale on June 12.
