Internet Desk: Finally the dream day arrived for P V Sindhu when she was handed over a BMW by her childhood star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Apart from pre-announced programme of awarding Sindhu, another Olympic Medalist Sakshi Malik, coach of Sindhu Pullela Gopichand and first Indian gymnast to participate in an Olympic- Dipa Karmakar was handed over BMW cars by the cricket legend of India.

Today receiving the BMW from Sachin Tendulkar all the Rio returned athletes were elated. After the programme P V Sindhu said, “Last time, when I received the first car—a Swift Dzire—from Sachin sir, he told me that he would present me with another car if I won a medal at Olympics. Today, my dream has come true”.

The four cars were gifted at Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy of Hyderabad. The organizer of the programme was Hyderabad District Badminton Association as all the cars were gifted by V Chamundeshwarnath, president of the association.

The Silver Medalist P V Sindhu and her coach P Gopichand were gifted with BMW 320d. While the car of Sindhu was of red colour, the colour of Gopichand’s was white. Olympic Bronze medalist Sakshi and fourth ranked gymnast Dipa Karmakar were gifted with BMW X1. Sakshi go a blue car and Dipa got a white one. While the luxury sedan 320d costs anything above Rs 37 lakh, the sports utility vehicle X1 starts at Rs 29.90 lakh.

Tandulkar, after the hand over programme, encouraged the Indian Olympians by saying, “On behalf of the nation, I extend my congratulations to all the players. I hope they would bring gold in the next Olympics.”

After this hearty words from the cricket legend all Indian Olympians promised to bring better Medal from the next Olympic. Sindhu said, “I will definitely put in my best efforts to get Gold Medals in my future tournaments”.

Sakshi also promised, “Earlier, I was unknown to most people in India but today the whole of my country is with me. Surely, I’ll put my efforts get a Gold in Tokyo”.
