Shiv Sundar Das appointed batting coach for India women’s team for England tour

Shiv Sundar Das has been appointed as the batting coach for India women team for the tour to England.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India opener Shiv Sundar Das has been appointed as the batting coach of Indian women’s team for the tour to England. Former Delhi wicket keeper Abhay Sharma has been named the fielding coach. Das and Sharma will join Ramesh Powar, who was appointed as the Coach of the Indian women team recently.

“This is the first time I have been assigned a job with the India women’s national team, so it’s a quite exciting time for me,” Das told ESPN cricinfo about his new role.

Shivsundar Das has previously worked with the Women A team. The former Orissa opener has played 23 Tests and 4 ODIs for the country. Abhay Sharma has featured in over 100 first-class and List A matches for Delhi and Railways. He has earlier worked with India men’s A team

India women will tour England for one-off Test and three each ODI and T20Is. The women’s squad will travel with the men’s squad on June 2 from Mumbai.
