Shahid Afridi tests positive for Covid-19
XtraTime Web Desk: Former Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi has tested positive for COVID-19. The cricketer in a tweet has confirmed the news and asked his fans to pray for his speedy recovery. He tweeted, “ I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah”

The former Pakistan cricketer has been very active doing social work during the coronavirus pandemic through his foundation “Shahid Afridi Foundation”. He also bought a bat auctioned by Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim in a bid to raise funds to fight the battle against COVID-19.
The former Pakistan captain also got appreciated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for his gesture. He bought the bat on behalf of his charity foundation for $20000.
Afridi was also involved in a lot of charity work distributing relief to the poor and needy people across Pakistan. The neighboring nation is the worst hit with the pandemic.
Afridi is the third Pakistan cricketer to test positive for the novel virus after Taufeeq Umar and Zafar Sarfaraz. Scotland’s Majid Haq and South Africa’s Solo Nqweni are the other cricketers to have contracted the virus.
