XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s star pacer Mohammed Shami today said that he and his family will totally co-operate with the Police authority after a team of Kolkata Police arrived at his place in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha city today. They went to UP for further investigation of Hasin Jahan’s allegations.
“My wife is unable to prove half of the allegations she has put on me. Now, I want to see to what extent she can go. I tried to solve the issue for seven to eight days, but she openly said she does not want to, so now I also do not have any option but to take this up legally. Me and my family will fully cooperate and help the Police authority during the investigation,” told Shami to ANI.
The speedster’s wife earlier alleged that her husband has tortured her several times and not only that he also has been involved in various extra-marital affairs.
Shami has been charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC, including 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his family. The other charges against Shami are under Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and 34.
“My cricket has no link with this matter. This is just a tactic to spoil my career. I have requested BCCI to start their investigation at the earliest and if I am proved to be innocent then let me resume my practice so that my game is not affected,” said Shami.
On the other hand Hasin will record her secret statement in front of the Magistrate at the Alipore Court under CrPc 164.
