Though East Bengal emerged as the victorious team by winning the game by 3 goals, the Bagan coach couldn’t escape the blushes of the rival fans. Sanjoy Sen was targeted by the infamous derogatory chant ‘’Macha, Macha” by the East Bengal fans. Witnessing the unruly behaviour of the fans, Debabrata Sarkar waved his hands to shut the crowd. However when the crowd turned a deaf ear to Sarkar’s request, he shouted back and scolded the fans. In the past, Sanjay Sen had visited the rival camp during a joint press conference of a derby when Armando was the coach of the red and gold brigade. However the Bagan gaffer didn’t have to face such situations at that time. Though Sen didn’t pay any head to the above matter he said, “I am Associated with the Debanjan Foundation hence I went to watch the match. I didn’t pay heed to any comments which were sent from the gallery.” Apart from Sen, Minister Firad Hakim, former foriegn footballer Jamshed Nasri was present to witness the game.
