Xtra Time Web Desk: Taylor announces his retirement from international cricket. Veteran New Zealand batter, Ross Taylor would not be a part of the Test series against South Africa in February, but will be play one day international series in Australia in February and against Netherlands in late March.

His final match would be seen in the fourth and final ODI series against Netherlands, Taylor’s home town in Hamilton on April 4.

“It’s been an amazing journey and I feel incredibly fortunate to have represented my country for as long as I have,” Taylor stated.

The 33 year old further added, “It’s been such a privilege to play with and against some of the greats of the game and to have created so many memories and friendships along the way. But all good things must come to an end and the timing feels right for me.”

The Newzealand batter, proved to be an outstanding player in the international cricket. Taylor made his first Test debut against South Africa in 2008 and played his first 233 ODIs against West Indies in 2006. With a score of 7584 Test runs with 19 centuries, Taylor stands next to Kane Williamson with 8581 runs in the ODIs.
