Internet Desk: Barcelona striker Neymar puts his rival club striker Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of his teammate Lionel Messi. Neymar thinks this year the Golden Ball will be awarded to Ronaldo.
According to the Brazilian forward the player who won two major titles in a single year is obviously the favourite for the best award of football. Whether he is still second in the list presently within the declaration of the award he will rise to the 1st spot, believes Neymar. “Ronaldo is a great player. I have no qualms in saying that. So I reckon he is in a good position”, confesses Neymar.
To justify his point Neymar stressed on the trophies Ronaldo bagged this year. He said, “winning titles plays a big role in the race for the Ballon d’Or. Ronaldo won the Champion’s League and now Euro 2016 as well. So I believe he is in a good position. Plus, Ronaldo is a great player.”
Presently Messi is leading the chart of Ballon d’Or. Previous year he was the winner of the ‘Golden Ball’. However, this year Ronaldo has the chance to bridge the gap between him and Messi to win the crown. Messi won the award for five times- 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. Whether, Ronaldo won it for three times- 2008, 2013 and 2014.
There is six months to go to declare the award. Before that Ronaldo already as a team man ahead of Messi as he won two titles. On the other hand Messi lost two titles- Champions League and Copa America title. Previous year Brazilian Neymar was leading the Ballon d’Or table for a long time. However, at the final stage Messi won it and Neymar was down to third. This year the similar change in the list can occur, Neymar thinks. If that occurs Ranolado is obviously the probable winner of the title.
