Romelu Lukaku tests COVID positive as four more Premier League games gets postponed due to the latest outbreak

Xtra Time Web Desk : Coronavirus has been wreaking havoc in the English Premier League over the past few days as four more games of the league got postponed again due to the deadly virus’ effect in England. Along with that, four Chelsea superstars, namely Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Callum Hudson Odoi and Ben Chilwell have all tested COVID positive.


The recent COVID outbreak in England has forced the Premier League officials to cancel Southampton’s fixture against Brentford, Watford’s clash against Crystal Palace and West Ham United’s game against Norwich which was due to be played on Saturday.

Leicester City’s away trip to Everton on Sunday has also been called off aftee the late postponement of their clash against Tottenham which was originally scheduled to be played on Thursday.


Also, Manchester United’s game against Brighton which was scheduled on Saturday was postponed earlier on Thursday due to the Red Devils’ problem with the latest outbreak. Five of the ten Premier League matches scheduled for the weekend have now been postponed as of now.


Now, with the Omicron variant spreading rapidly in England, it is to be seen how the deadly virus affects English football.
