Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricket team had a rest day on Thursday after clinching a spot in the final of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The Men in Blue defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs in the Super 4 game at the R Premadasa stadium on Wednesday to guarantee a place in the final. Rohit Sharma and his team registered a huge win over Pakistan in their first Super 4 game. The Indian team will face the winner of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the final to be played at the same venue on Sunday, September 17.

Rohit and his boys got a much-deserved rest day after playing for three consecutive days. Most of the Indian players preferred staying in their hotel rooms while a few of them went out for dinner. The cricketers underwent their routine gym and pool session.

Middle order batter Shreyas Iyer is recovering from his back spasms and is expected to be fit ahead of the final Super-4 game against Bangladesh on September 15. With a spot in the final guaranteed, the Indian team management can make a couple of changes in the playing XI. Mohammed Shami can be included in place of Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Siraj. If Shreyas plays against Bangladesh, then Ishan Kishan might have to sit out.
