Sindhu also must get confident following her coach’s comment over her performance in the semi-final match. Coach P Gopichand honoured her performance as ‘phenomenal’. After yesterday’s match Gopichand stated that this was not the best performance of Sindhu. However, he added, “I still believe that she is capable of better badminton. But what she performed here under pressure is phenomenal." Further he added in appraisal of his student, “I think it has been fantastic. Overall the way she (Sindhu) played from day 1 because each match is a tough one and she pulled out each one.” Behind the rise of players like Kidambi Srikanth and P V Sindhu, P Gopichand has a great effort, as was described by the father of Sindhu, P V Ramana. Gopichand described how he is preparing his student for the final match. “I think at the end of the match, I also realized that it is the final tomorrow. She needs to realize that it’s another day later that we can celebrate. And its time to think of it’s as another match and tomorrow is another match”, he said. However, he is confident regarding his student as he described his student of being self contended with patients. He said, “She is not relaxed, she is pumped up and she wants to perform and it’s good to see the way she is finishing the matches”.
