Ravindra Jadeja to undergo fitness test at the National Cricket Academy

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is still uncertain to return for the white ball series against New Zealand at home. Jadeja has returned to National Cricket Academy for a fitness test. He will undergo the mandatory Yo-Yo test and the newly mandated DEXA test. If everything goes well, Jadeja will return for the series against BlackCaps.

Jadeja has been out of cricket since the Asia Cup 2022. He suffered a freak injury during a team bonding exercise and had to return to Mumbai for immediate knee surgery. However, following the surgery, he is still recovering. He missed the T20 World Cup in Australia and was also not part of the Indian squad for the series in New Zealand and Bangladesh. He was also not available for selection for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.

But the good news for fans is Jadeja is nearing the completion of his rehab. He will undergo fitness assessment at the NCA under physio Nitin Patel. Once he gets clearance from the NCA, he will be eligible for selection.

Meanwhile, the new selection committee led by Chetan Sharma will have its first meeting on Monday or Tuesday to pick the squad for white ball series against New Zealand.
