Ranty Recovering From Throat Injury , Sehnaj Doubtful For Mumbai FC Tie

Goa : Kingfisher East Bengal club suffered a slight hiccup as  midfielder Sehnaj Singh could miss the next match against Mumbai FC. The midfielder who joined the Red and Golds this season  was badly tackled by a Sporting Clube de Goa player. He has injured his quadriceps muscles of  his right leg.

Coach Biswajit Bhattacharjee seemed concerned about the injury.Sehnaj is likely to be replaced by veteran Deepak Mandal , if he fails to recover in time for Mumbai FC match. A scan will be done on the medio shortly ,till then he has been advised fully bed rest. East Bengal are scheduled to play Mumbai FC on 17th January.

Nigerian forward Ranty Martins who had injured his throat in the same match after being elbowed by Ravanan  is much better now.  Ranty scored a brace to help East Bengal rally from behind to beat Sporting 3-1 in their opening encounter against Sporting Clube de Goa in the Fatorda stadium. Coach Biswajit Bhatttacharjee is hopeful about Ranty getting match fit in time for the Mumbai FC match .

Meanwhile  the team management decided to give the team a day off. The players  looked quite relaxed after making a great start to the season . The players mostly preferred to take rest at the hotel while  Korean forward Do Dong Hyun and his girlfriend Haruka were seen spending time at the Colva Beach. Coach Biswajit Bhatttacharya too was at the beach along with his  two assistants Sanjay Majhi and Sammy Omollo . East Bengal will be flying  to Mumbai on  January 15 to play against their next I league opponents Mumbai FC.
