Ranji Trophy : Tiwary Hopeful Of Playing Against MP In Quarters

Kolkata : Manoj Tiwary  has been retained as the captain of  Bengal for the forthcoming Ranji quarter finals against Madhya Pradesh in Mumbai . The selectors today picked a 20-member squad and retained Manoj Tiwary as their captain despite his hamstring injury for their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal cricket match against Madhya Pradesh in Mumbai from February 3-7.

“I’m hopeful to be fit in time before the quarters,” Tiwary who underwent a rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru said after the selection committee meeting here.

Bengal squad also includes pacer Veer Pratap Singh who too has fitness issues as they will prune the squad further after assessing the fitness in next two days.

The 20-member squad includes some uncapped players in Amit Kuila, Koushik Ghosh, Prasenjit Das and Ishan Porel.

The squad also features Ravi Kant Singh who was recently cleared of a suspect action.
