XtraTime Web Desk: India’s legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid was present at the Camp Nou on Saturday to watch the game between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
In a video posted on their Facebook page, the Catalan giants greeted Dravid with the message: “Rahul Dravid it was a pleasure greeting you at Camp Nou! We hope you enjoyed our victory vs Atletico.”
Sharing his experience, Dravid says in the video: “It is a huge honour. One of the things that I have always wanted to do is come to the Camp Nou and watch a football match. To be here and experience the atmosphere is absolutely electric. Getting to see people like (Lionel) Messi and (Luis) Suarez play live is fantastic.”
Dravid added, “It is one thing that Messi is fantastic with the ball but it is incredible how good he is without the ball and how he is able to find spaces. I don’t think there has been a better player than him ever,” said Dravid, who was presented with a personalized Barcelona home jersey by club president Josep Bartomeu. “I am also looking forward to how Barcelona does in the Champions League against Manchester United in a few days’ time.”
Dravid also spoke about cricket in India. “Cricket is a different game. We have great crowds… great atmosphere at IPL matches and also a lot of Test matches. Cricket is the number one sport in India but football is catching up very quickly…the ISL, the new league we have in last few years,” he said.
“This was a lovely atmosphere here, similar to some of the IPL games. Obviously, this is one of the most popular clubs in the world. Everyone watches and follows La Liga, especially the big games like Barcelona vs Real Madrid and Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid.”
