Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced Indian squad for the upcoming World test championship and England tour. Just after it was announced Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Prasidh Krishna who was included in the squad became corona positive which virtually means that he will not be able to tour with senior national side to England.
This Incident has thrown open a place in the national side up for grab. We now try to find out with reason who is most likely to replace Krishna in English conditions. Incidentally Many eyebrows were raised when Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s name was not there in the Indian Test squad. He hasn’t played in test matches since January 2018 but remains a one of India’s finest swing bowler in English conditions.
He was quite successful in England during the tour in the year 2014. Bhuvi scored 250 runs plus runs and also took 19 wickets as he was awarded the Player of the Series award. In 2018, he missed the tour due to injury.
It will be interesting to see whether BCCI considers him or not considering the relatively younger pace attack that they have selected and keeping in mind Bhuvi’s age as well.
