President Ram Nath Kovind to inaugurate the largest cricket stadium at Motera

The Motera stadium will be inaugurated by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The honorable President of India, Ram Nath Kovind will be inaugurating the Motera cricket stadium on Thursday ahead of the third Day Night Pink Ball Test between India and England. Regarded as the largest cricket stadium in the world , the Motera stadium has a capacity of 1,10,000 which is more than Melbourne Cricket Ground. The honorable President will be accompanied by the Union Home Minister Mr Amit Shah.

Located in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, the Motera Stadium is built on a sprawling 63 acres of land.

The Motera stadium boasts of excellent infrastructure and facilities which is being appreciated by both Indian and England cricketers. Apart from housing 11 pitches (six made of red soil and five prepared of black soil) , the stadium also boasts of a lush green outfield. It also has 76 corporate boxes, an Olympic level swimming pool, an indoor academy, four dressing rooms for athletes, food courts and a GCA clubhouse, too.

Unlike the other modern cricket stadiums , the Motera stadium has state-of-the-art LED Floodlights all around the ground. An innovative feature of this stadium is that the 360-degree podium concourse at a height of 9 meters eases simplifies the movement of spectators, as well as provides a uniform view to the spectators from any stand.

Separate state-of-the-art gyms have also been set up. A special lounge has been built near the players and VIP entrance. The autographed bat collection of players from the teams of IPL and World Cup matches played so far in the Autograph Gallery at the stadium is the centre of attraction.

The “Hall of Fame”, featuring photographs of world-renowned cricketers, catches the eyeballs of the spectators.

Completed in a short span of two years, Motera stadium will definitely be the pride of India.
