Premier League: Stoppage time goal gives United 3-2 win over Brighton; Chelsea held 3-3 by West Brom

XtraTime Web Desk: A stoppage time goal helped Manchester United beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 at the Amex Stadium in Premier League on Saturday. A VAR review showed Neal Maupay handling the ball inside the box resulting in the referee awarding a penalty. Bruno Fernandes made no mistake from the spot kick to give United full points.

The visitors saw them trailing a goal down in the 40th minute of the match as Brighton was given a penalty following a goal bound header blocked with his arm by Harry Maguire. Neil Maupay scored from the penalty. An own goal from Lewis Dunk helped Red Devils equalize just at the stroke of half time.

A brilliant solo goal from Marcus Rashford in the 55th minute helped United restore the lead. But a header from Solly March in stoppage time (90+5’) once again leveled the scores. As the match headed for a 2-2 draw, Maupay’s infringement gave Manchester a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 100th minute.

Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot to seal the unlikeliest of victories for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s below-par side.
In another Premier League clash Chelsea were held 3-3 by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. C Robinson (4’ & 25’), K Bartley (27’) scored from the hosts. Goals from Mason Mount (55’), Callum Hudson-Odoi (70’) and Tammy Abraham (90+3’) helped Chelsea take a point. Frank Lampard’s side is already five points off Premier League lead with just three games gone.
