XtraTime Web Desk: Manchester United star Paul Pogba may have to wait for his return with the Red Devils as he is likely to not find a place in the starting lineup against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side resumes action in the Premier League which went in a three months hiatus due to COVID-19. The Premier League is all set to start from Wednesday, June 17.

The Frenchman was last seen in action for the Red Devil’s during the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last September. The 27 year old Pogba has been plagued by ankle problems throughout the season. He just managed to make eight appearances for United.

Although the French international have recovered from his injury, he might still have to re-earn his place in Solskjaer’s first XI. It means United fans will have to wait to see Pogba playing alongside Bruno Fernandes who was signed for a record £68m from Sporting Lisbon in January. According to reports in English media, Pogba is understood to have 'trained well since lockdown began' but nonetheless, United are said to be working on a starting XI without the 27-year-old.

Instead, Solskjaer could turn to a regular this season in Fred, as well as Scott McTominay or Nemanja Matic in the centre of the park to play alongside playmaker Fernandes.

United are currently in the fifth spot in the Premier League table, three points behind Chelsea who are fourth. However, Jose Mourinho’s side can go within a point of United with a win on Friday night,
