Premier League: Merseyside clubs Liverpool and Everton won as Arsenal locked level

XtraTime Web Desk – Even after many of their first team players are out because of Covid-19 or injuries, Liverpool had no problem to beat in-form Leicester City.

In the 21st minute, Liverpool went ahead from an own-goal from Johnny Evans and in the 41st minute, man in form, Diogo Jota gave Liverpool a comfortable 2-0 lead. In the second half, through Naby Keita, Liverpool lost another player because of an injury. Nevertheless, their dominance didn’t stop as Roberto Firmino scored in the 86th minute to seal the deal for the Merseyside club. Liverpool is now in the 2nd position with 20 points from 9 games.

Another Merseyside club also came victorious as Everton beat Fulham 3-2 in a thrilling encounter. Calvert-Lewin gave Everton the lead right at the start in just 1 minute mark. Everton however couldn’t keep going as Fulham scored in the 15th minute to lock the score line. Bobby Reid scored for the London side. Everton then scored twice before the half-time as Lewin completed his brace in the 29th minute and Doucoure scored in the 35th minute. Fulham again scored in the 70th minute as Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Just before that Fulham missed a penalty in the 68th minute. The match ended 3-2 in favour of Everton. After this win, Everton is now in the 6th position with 16 points from 9 matches.

Another London club, Arsenal couldn’t manage a win against a struggling Leads United. Nicolas Pepe received a straight red in the 52nd minute put Arsenal into 10 men but neither of the team could score after 90 minutes. Arsenal currently stands in the 11th place with 13 points from 9 games while Leeds is on 14th place, just behind Manchester City with 11 points from 9 games.

West Ham however was the only London club that didn’t disappoint their fans on Sunday night. Sébastian Haller scored the only goal as West Ham won against Sheffield United. West Ham in on 8th place with 14 points from 9 games.
