Premier League: Leaders Liverpool held by Everton, Chelsea wins 2-1 over Villa

XtraTime Web Desk: Premier League leaders Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by Merryside neighbours Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. The club from Anfield was just six points away from securing the Premier League title before kick-off, but will now have to wait a bit longer to clinch the silverware. Jurgen Klopp’s side now has 83 points from 30 matches.


Eyes now turn to Monday night as Manchester City take on Burnley and, if Pep Guardiola’s men fail to win, Liverpool can confirm their first league title in 30 years by beating Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
In another match Chelsea registered a 2-1 win over Aston Villa at the Villa Park to remain on fourth spot in the table with 51 points from 30 matches. Christian Pulisic and Oliver Giroud were on the score sheet for the visitors while Kortney Hause scored for the hosts.


Other results from Premier League fixtures on Sunday saw Newcastle United thrash Sheffield United 3-0 with goals from M Ritchie, Joelinton, A Saint Maximin. Crystal Palace had a 2-0 win over Bournemounth.
