Premier League 2021-22 : Liverpool vs Leeds match postponed due to COVID

The premier league match between Liverpool and Leeds has been called off due to spiralling COVID cases.

Xtra Time Web Desk: Premier League announced that the upcoming fixture between Liverpool and Leeds United has been postponed due to the rise of COVID cases in the Leeds camp. The fixture was due to play on Boxing Day, December 26. But now with the match postponed, Premier League will reschedule the game for the coming month, the official announcement will be made soon.
Apart from Liverpool vs Leeds United, Wolves vs Watford was also postponed which was scheduled on Boxing Day However, these are not the first Premier League fixtures that had to be postponed this month. There is a long list of postponed matches which the Premier League organizers need to take care of in recent days.
There is only one reason for postponed matches currently, COVID-19, several Premier League have suffered and some are still suffering from the outbreak of the deadly virus. Meanwhile, Premier League has decided to go on with the tournament and not postpone any matches until there are 13 players available in the side for a particular fixture.
This decision has been criticized by many as it seems like the League organizers and the broadcasters are neglecting the player’s welfare and focusing mainly on their business aspects. Following which the COVID outbreak in the club camps may see more rise in the coming days.
