Poland FA refuses to play against Russia in the upcoming FIFA 2022 World Cup playoff fixture

Xtra Time Web Desk : Poland Football Association on Saturday confirmed that they will not play against Russia in the upcoming World Cup 2022 play off match. The decision came in protest of Russia’s attack over Ukraine on Thursday.

“In light of the escalation of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, the Polish national team is not going to play a match against Russian Republic,” wrote Kulesza said on Twitter.

Polish National team captain Lewandowski in reaction to the decision wrote on Twitter: “I can’t imagine playing a match with the Russian National Team in a situation when armed aggression in Ukraine continues. Russian footballers and fans are not responsible for this, but we can’t pretend that nothing is happening.”
