Xtra Time Web Desk : Why did Sunil Gavaskar contradict Ravi Shastri’s suggestion for Virat Kohli taking a break? The Little Master feels it will be a huge blunder on the part of Kohli to take a break as suggested by Shastri. After a couple of good scores in the ongoing IPL season, Kohli has looked totally out of form.

In an interview with Sports Tak, the legendary Little Master was seen in his usual mood as he opened up and said, “If you don’t play then how will you rediscover your form ? You regain your form only by spending more and more time on the crease. You’ll score runs by this process only. But sometimes if you need a refreshing break, not a cricketing break, that you can take. Especially when you’re not in form or under huge pressure then it’s okay to take that break. But I always think that playing for India should always be the priority. You’ll play somewhere else and would take a break from playing for the country, that should not be the case, according to me. The rest is up to the selectors and the cricketers on what they would do,”

The former Team India skipper also opened up about the off form of the two modern day greats and said, “I’m not concerned about that. Everyone knows about their class. There is still time for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be staged in October. There are lots of matches before that. The class which they have will reflect some day or the other. It is normal to have a bad IPL season. There are sometimes speed bumps on roads. So I think that they will be in fine form at the World Cup,”

However, as Gavaskar said, the fans of Indian cricket would now be hoping that the duo of Virat and Rohit returns to form, as soon as possible.
