The Pakistan team is all set to arrive in Kolkata on Saturday .The Pakistan team will fly out in the wee hours of Saturday from Lahore and reach Kolkata at around 20:00 IST. Meanwhile, the women's team will leave from Karachi in the morning and reach Chennai at about 20:15 IST. Assured of security, the Pakistan government finally agreed to send its national squads to India for the ICC World Twenty20. The tournament got under way on Tuesday. Pakistan play their first match in the Super 10 stage on March 16 at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. According to PCB chairman Najam Sethi, "The interior minister has given permission to send the Pakistan cricket team to play the Twenty20 on the basis of solid assurances received from chief minister of West Bengal and the... union home secretary and the home minister (in India)." Pakistan’s participation in World T20 was in doubts following the comment from Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Mr Khan categorically ruled out sending the team to India until assurances come from high-ups in India. “Until and unless clear guarantee on security comes from Indian government, unfortunately we are not in a position to decide sending the team,” Khan told media. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday left the decision to the government although it said the players were ready to fly any time. After several discussions and high level meetings the Pakistan Government at last gave the green signal for the team to travel to India to participate in World T20. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday sent a letter to Cricket Association of Bengal president Sourav Ganguly  assuring full proof security for the Pakistan team in Kolkata . Police Commissioner of Kolkata Rajib Kumar also wrote a letter to Pakistan Cricket Board assuring them all sorts of security during their stay here in Kolkata . Since the last week there were a lot of confusions over Pakistan team’s visit to India for the World T20. The tie between the arch-rivals scheduled to be held in Dharamshala on March 19 had to be shifted to Eden Gardens due to security concerns. Pakistan team will be arriving in India from Dubai by an Emirates flight. If Pakistan would not have participated in the World T20 showing security concerns, then they had to pay a huge fine to the ICC which could have been around $10million. Meanwhile, Pakistan warm-up tie with Bengal has been called off. The match was scheduled to take place on March 12. CAB is trying to convince the Pakistan team to play against Bengal once they arrive in the city.
