Internet Desk: The Indo-Czech pair of Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova were crowned the champions of women’s doubles on Saturday. Sania and Strycova got past China’s Chen Liang and Zhaoxuan Yang with ease in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to lift the doubles title in Tokyo.

Despite facing a disappointing exit at the US Open, the pair, playing their third tournament together, bounced back in style and comfortably defeated the unseeded Chinese pair 6-1, 6-1 in the summit clash.

With this win, the duo has now secured their second title in two months after pairing up.

Last month, Sania and her new partner Strycova clinched the Cincinnati Open title defeating the pair of Martina Hingis and Coco Vandeweghe. This is Sania’s 40th doubles title win and third in Tokyo.
