Eugenson Lyngdoh's 15th minute opener was cancelled out by Alfred Jaryan in the 38th minute before Joel Sunday grabbed a 90th minute winner for the hosts. The away side got their reward in the 15th minute as they took the lead through Eugeneson. Udanta combined well with Sunil Chhetri before squaring the ball for the I-League's Midfielder of the Year whose shot went straight in after Kim failed to connect with an attempted flick. Just after the half-hour mark, David's well struck free-kick forced Amrinder into an excellent diving save to his left to deny the home team an equaliser. However, the Bengaluru custodian couldn't stop Alfred Jaryan from restoring parity in the 38th minute. Ricky delivered from the left flank and Curtis Osano's poor touch allowed the striker to pounce and bury his effort into the back of the net to make it 1-1. Aizawl nearly took the lead four minutes later. Joel Sunday's strike crashed off the woodwork before David could only find the side-netting with his effort on the rebound as the teams went into the break with the score tied at 1-1. Udanta went on a magnificent run in the 58th minute, leaving three Aizawl defenders in his wake, but his finish was thwarted by Poirei. Ten minutes later, Ricky's long pass saw Jaryan get to the ball ahead of the onrushing Amrinder and poke it past the custodian only to see it go wide of the target. Daniel was then through on goal for Bengaluru in the 77th minute but took too much time to pull the trigger, allowing Chigozie to make the tackle. Lalnunfela laid the ball off for Jaryan to strike with two minutes of regulation time to play but his effort went wide. The home team then snatched a dramatic late winner in the 90th minute. Jaryan beat Chhuantea Fanai on the right before cutting the ball back for Sunday who rifles it past Amrinder via a deflection to give Aizawl a 2-1 lead. In the third minute of added time, Daniel went down inside the box but the referee only pointed for a corner-kick. Eugeneson's delivery was perfect and Johnson met it once again but his header went just wide as the game ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts. Meanwhile, Aizawl FC are planning to send a letter to the AIFF regarding their relegation from the I-league. Aizawl FC team management feels that as they have defeated I-league champions Bengaluru FC today and last year champs and this year runners-up Mohun Bagan so they deserve to stay in the I-leaague top tier.
