Kolkata: Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen will be unable to attend the Disciplinary committee meeting of AIFF. He is now in Goa as Mohun Bagan are scheduled to face Sporing Clube de Goa. Doctor advised him to take rest. “Right now I am very weak. I have already informed AIFF that I will not be able to attend the Disciplinary committee meeting”. He said.

Mohun Bagan would look to cement their position at the top when they will take on Sporting Clube de Goa on Tuesday. Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen admitted that they have to restrict Odafa from scoring. Mohun Bagan are now on 21 points sitting pretty comfortably at the top of the table.

On being asked about Odafa the Green and Maroon gaffer answered“We have to be very cautious. We have to restrict him from scoring. If he gets a chance he will certainly score. In the reverse fixture at Barasat he couldn’t do much as Luciano was brilliant on that day”.

Sanjoy Sen is facing selection dilemma as Pronay is back from suspension. Lenny Rodrigues had a good game in the previous match. “I have not decided yet whom to play”. He said.

Luciano is back for selection and will replace Sanjay Balmuchu at the heart of defence.

Moving on to Tuesday’s clash, the Mariners have the opportunity to increase their stronghold at the top of the table by gaining a six-point advantage over Bengaluru FC, however, it won’t be an easy task by any means. Sanjoy Sen, who attended the pre-match press conference after coming back from his illness, pointed out the new signing by Sporting might be the crucial factor tomorrow, “They have signed a couple of new players like Mehrajuddin (Wadoo) in defence, Denson (Devadas) in midfield, Mahmoud didn’t play the against us at Barasat and Odafa (Okolie) is always there to crack your defence. We have to be very cautious, especially after their results against Mumbai FC in their last two matches.”

Sanjoy Sen sounds very cautious.“Our aim is to remain unbeaten. I have said to my boys many times that if we lose points at this points it will be a major setback for us”. He added.

The Flaming Oranje  have got the right balance between experience and youth and they shaped up pretty well. Odafa Okolie, on his day, can turn matches on its head and can inflict heavy damage on Bagan’s defence that has looked frail on certain occasions. Matues Costa’s team won’t leave any stone unturned to stage an upset tomorrow to stay alive in the title hunt, “If we want to stay in the quest for the title, three points are very crucial but Mohun Bagan are playing like a complete team, they are almost playing a flawless football. 100 percent won’t be enough for tomorrow’s match. We have to give 200 percent tomorrow to get those points.”
