Double Delight for India! Roshibina Wins Wushu Silver, Satnam-Salman Claim Rowing Bronze

XtraTime Webdesk: India has already bagged several medals in Asian Games 2026, and on Thursday morning, September 24, India added two more medal in its 2026 Asian Games tally. This new addition came when Naorem Roshibina Devi won silver in women’s Sanda 60 kg category in Wushu and the rowing duo of Satnam Singh and Salman Khan secured bronze in the men’s double sculls. Roshibina’s captivating performance and winning silver has marked her second consecutive Asian Games medal in the event.

These two medals have made India’s tally to 14 medals, which has 1 gold, 6 silver, and 7 bronze as of latest update. The only gold has been brought to India by the women’s cricket team if India, who performed exceptionally well to achieve the victory.

Naorem Roshibina Devi is an elite Indian wushu athelete and she has made made history as the first Indian wushu player to win medals at three consecutive Asian Games. In this edition of Asian Games she faced China’s Zhang Ziaoyu for the gold medal battle, but fate was not at her side and Ziaoyu played exceptionally well to win the gold.

Zhang Ziaoyu won the final 2-0, taking both rounds 5-0. The final took place at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall and Roshibina entred the final after beating Indonesia’s Thania Kusumaningtyas in the semi final.

India’s second medal of the day came in rowing. The Indian pair Satnam Singh and Salman Khan clocked 6:13:25 in the final and finished third in the men’s double sculls. It is beuing reported that their brobze is India’s first ever Asian Games medal in the men’s double sculls event.

With more medals still expected to come on Thursday, India will look forwards to build on the momentum created by Roshibina Devi’s silver and Satnam Singh and Salman Khan’s bronze as the Asian Games action continues in Aichi-Nagoya.
