XtraTime Web Desk: Former Kolkata Knight Riders’ wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum played one of the most blitzkrieg knocks in the history of Indian Premier League on this day in 2008. It was the inaugural season of IPL and the New Zealander’s knock (158 off 73 balls) against RCB set the ball rolling for the cash rich league. McCullum is back this season with his former franchise but in a different role. The Knight Riders coach revealed that he received a huge compliment from then KKR skipper Sourav Ganguly which actually proved correct in his playing career. “I don’t remember many reactions in detail, but what I do remember is what Sourav Ganguly said to me that night. Dada said, ‘Your life is changed forever’, and I didn’t quite know what he meant at the time, but (in hindsight), I 100% agree with him,” McCullum said in an interview to kkr.in Saturday, April 28 will be the 12th anniversary of that mind-blowing knock. The Kolkata based franchise reminded everyone about this fact by tweeting from their official Twitter handle. The dashing wicket-keeper spoke how that innings changed the life of him and his family. “It changed my family’s life forever, and I feel very blessed and very humble and very lucky. What I did that night was something I didn’t think I was capable of achieving. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates, that’s 100% sure,” said McCullum.
