Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra receives the Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind
Xtra Time Web Desk : Tokyo Olympic 2020 Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra on Monday received the Padma Shri award for his exemplary performance in the Javelin event, which led him to the world's most prestigious medal last year.
Chopra made his Olympics debut in Tokyo and became the first ever track and field athlete from India to win the Gold medal in an Olympic event, courtesy of his 87.58 metres throw in his second attempt.
And on Monday, the 24 year old received the prestigious Padma Shri award from India's President, Ram Nath Kovind in a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
